1. Who we are
FetchSong (“FetchSong”, “we”, “us”) is operated by FetchSong. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We never receive your Google password.
- Clips you submit. Video or audio files you upload, sound recorded with your microphone when you use Listen mode, and links to public videos you paste.
- Messages. Anything you send us when you contact support.
Information created when you use FetchSong
- Song history. If you are signed in, the songs we identify for you (title, artist, album, artwork and links) are saved to your account.
- Usage information. How many songs you identify each day, so we can apply plan limits.
- Technical information. IP address, browser type, device type and basic request logs, used to keep the service secure and working.
3. How we handle your clips
Clips are used only to identify the song in them.
- When you upload a video, your browser turns it into a short, light audio sample first whenever possible, so the video itself stays on your device.
- When you paste a link to a public video, we retrieve a short part of its audio for the same purpose.
- Audio samples are processed automatically and deleted right after the result is returned. We do not keep, share or publish your clips, and nobody listens to them.
4. How we use information
- To identify songs and show you results, previews and links.
- To create and manage your account and keep your song history.
- To apply daily limits and plan features.
- To prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents.
- To fix problems and improve the service.
- To answer your messages and send important service notices.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)
We process your information to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract), for our legitimate interests in keeping FetchSong secure and improving it, to comply with the law, and with your consent where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6. When we share information
We share information only when needed to run FetchSong:
- Service providers who host the service, process audio for song recognition, handle sign-in and, for Pro, process payments. They act on our instructions, under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.
- Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or FetchSong.
- Business changes, such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
When you open a song in another app or website, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
7. How long we keep information
- Clips and audio samples: deleted immediately after identification.
- Song history: until you remove it or delete your account.
- Account details: until you delete your account.
- Usage counters: reset daily.
- Security logs: kept for a limited period, then deleted.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to some processing.
- You can remove songs or clear your whole history from the History page.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. This permanently removes your account and history.
- For any other request, email [email protected]. We will answer within the time required by law.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for using your privacy rights.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, strict access controls and automatic deletion of clips to protect your information. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. When it is, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.
11. Children
FetchSong is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets a higher age. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app or by email.
